FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Ask any questions about our operations.

Who is Bracell Foundation and what are its objectives?

We are a private, non-profit organization that harnesses the transformative power of education to help people realize their full potential and improve their lives.

To this end, our primary strategic focus is early childhood education, especially preschool education for children aged 4 and 5.
In Brazil, 93% of children aged 4 and 5 are enrolled in early childhood education. However, research shows that the quality of this education is far below what is necessary to promote their full development.

On the other hand, research suggests a return on investment (ROI) as high as 13% for high-quality early childhood education, when considering improvement in health, reduced involvement in criminal activities and financial gains through productivity increase and better wages.

However, effective public policies require leaders with commitment, good training and appropriate skills. Unfortunately, 53% of municipal education managers in Brazil have two years or less of experience in managing public education.
Considering this scenario, Bracell Foundation is committed to supporting the development of effective public policies, based on three pillars:

  1. Through applied research, we identify promising solutions to improve the quality of preschool, and we support the transformation of these initiatives into large-scale programs through partnerships with governments.
  2. We help promote actions aimed at a comprehensive early childhood policy, since the development of a child’s full potential depends on a range of initiatives, in addition to education, such as in health, social assistance and other areas.
  3. In partnership with governments and educational institutions, we also promote leadership development programs.

Furthermore, our initiatives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda).

Is Bracell Foundation a branch of Bracell's Corporate Social Responsibility area?

Although aligned with the principles that govern Bracell, our actions are separate from the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility area.

We are a private, non-profit institution, with our own corporate tax ID (CNPJ), organizational structure and operations.

Our work also distinguishes us from the corporate area. Our mission is to harness the transformative power of education to help people realize their full potential and improve their lives – that’s why we work to improve Brazilian early childhood education, encourage actions for a comprehensive early childhood policy and promote the development of leaders committed to effective public policies.

Bracell’s Corporate Social Responsibility area implements projects as part of Bracell’s operations.
